Sheila Thompson

Sheila was nominated by her niece, who describes her as one of the most giving people she has ever known, and once you hear her story, it's easy to see why.

Sheila has been dealt an incredibly hard hand. She has lost her son, a grief no parent should have to carry. On top of that, she lives with multiple rare health conditions that have led to several surgeries and leave her in constant, excruciating pain, including a condition that is causing her bones to deteriorate.

Even so, Sheila keeps going. She works hard to stay positive and to keep loving life, even on the days when simply getting through is a fight. Making ends meet is a constant struggle for her.

What stands out most about Sheila is her heart. Her niece says she would hand over her last dollar to someone in need, even if it meant going without herself.

Now it's our turn to give back. Sheila deserves something positive, and she deserves to know that her community sees her and has her back.

Linda Hall

Linda is one of those people who quietly makes a difference just by being a part of our community. She's a familiar face to many of us here in Madison and someone who spends her days caring for others. 

This month, we're excited to turn that kindness back towards Linda. She's currently taking some time away from work, so being chosen as our Giver Winner feels like especially good timing. Sometimes the people who spend so much of their time caring for everyone else deserve a little care themselves.
